TEHRAN – The Drilling Chemistry Laboratory of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) currently under construction, will be one of the most advanced facilities of the kind in the Middle East.

The lab, construction of which started last year, will play a significant role in preparation of the drilling cement, drilling liquids, acidizing operations and controlling the quality of the chemical additives vastly used in the industry.

The highly sophisticated chemistry lab is planned to be equipped with the gears and equipments used for timing at atmospheric pressures and temperatures, timing under high pressure and temperature conditions, gelatification, elimination of the gas and cement solutions, identification of the geological behavior of substances at high pressures and temperatures, testing cement’s permeability to gas, fatigue at high pressures and temperatures testing apparatuses as well as measuring the iron ions.

The new drilling chemistry laboratory is expected to become operational by June, the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) said on Monday.
